Iyar 28

The 43th day of counting the Omer is the day that Yeshua ascended into heaven according to the scriptures---over 2 millennium ago!

To recap----

Resurrection Day:
Luke 24:1 "But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb...3 when they entered... they did not find the body of Yeshua... 4 Two men in dazzling white appeared before the women and said, "He is not here, He has risen" 13-16 "Two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, about 7 miles from Jerusalem... while they were conversing together, Yehsua Himself approached and began traveling with them."

During the next 40 days, He appeared in various places to various others.

Then, he was taken up into heaven from the Mount of Olives right before His disciples eyes! Acts 1:1-14

Seven days from today is Shavuot (Pentecost)

Church Tradition

The council of Nicea was convened on Iyyar 19, 4085 (May 20, 325 AD). This council officially changed the date of the observance of Passover in the Church from Nissan 14 (the biblical date) to the first Sunday after the first full moon after the first day of Spring. This was done so that the church would have "nothing in common" with the Jewish people.

Therefore, Ascension Day in the church is defined as "the fortieth day after Easter". The truth is, it would be the 43rd day after the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Nissan.

Originally in 2008, I sent out these pages in emails over the course of two months. Now they are on my web site so more people will see them and be able to put Passover, and the days following, and What Yeshua Did in to their proper Jewish context.
